Diane Ruth Riedemann Gordon

 

Memorial services for Diane Ruth Riedemann Gordon, a former Watertown resident, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Werner officiating.

 

The service will be followed by burial in the family plot at Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

A period of fellowship will follow in the parish hall where Martin Gordon, Diane’s husband, and their daughter, Dolores, will greet relatives and friends.

 

Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.

 

She had resided in Columbia, Md., with Martin, her husband of 46 years.

 

She was born in Watertown on March 20, 1938, daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth Riedemann. She attended St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and in 1955 graduated from the high school department of then Northwestern College in Watertown. She went on to get her undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University in 1959 and later her doctorate in classical studies from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She had a long career in teaching and was teaching a class at the time she became ill and subsequently passed away.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Dolores, Columbia, Md.; and her brother, David H. Riedemann of Watertown.
