Beverley 'Bev' J. Dehnert

Beverley 'Bev' J. Dehnert, 86, of Watertown, passed away peacefully in her sleep, in Waukesha, at the home of her daughter on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery in Watertown.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home on Friday from 4 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Beverley Jean Whiteley was born on Oct. 3, 1925, to Alfred and Iva (White) Whiteley in Wonewoc. On May 14, 1949, she married Merlyn 'Spike' Dehnert in Oconomowoc. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1984.

Bev worked at Welbourne Hall in Watertown for many years and retired from Homestyle Bakery. She loved spending time with her family, was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and watched the Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Bucks and the Green Bay Packers. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

Bev is survived by her children, Linda (Charlie) Poppert of Gurnee, Ill., Tom (Dawn) Dehnert of Watertown, Denise (Josh) Folcik of Waukesha; son-in-law Ray Sherry; stepchildren, Jack (Pauline) Dehnert and Pam Mee; 12 grandchildren, Jenny (Brandon) Frentzel, Jeremy (Heather) Dehnert, Jamie (Kurt) Van Straten, Jimmy Dehnert, Dan (Traci) Poppert, Matt (Cheryl) Poppert, Paul (Tamara) Poppert, Tim (Alicia) Poppert, Nikki (Nate) Salas, Kelly (Nathan) Weber, Mark (Lanae Carr) Sherry and Jodi (Mike) Nienow; great-grandchildren, Casandra and Abigail Frentzel, Eric Van Straten, Dylan, Zoe and Kyle Poppert, Emma, Tanner and Teagan Poppert, Sofia and Ava Salas; Lily and Carter Weber; her two sisters Lorraine (Tom Turner) Lekas and Verleen Pluhar, along with other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jerry and James Dehnert; a brother, Dean Whiteley, and her best friend, Betty Shick.
